Back on our bullshit with two new rippers from ELECTRIC PRAWNS 2! Dropped on the same day, we put out “Perspex” an absolute gem of a rock and roll album channelling the likes of Modern Lovers, fucked up fuzzy Velvet Underground demos & Brian Jonestown Massacre at their most deprived. And yet still all with an undeniably PRAWNS essence, limited to 25 on faded white shells. We also dropped a collection of songs from the PRAWNS called “Heavy Shitters”, a compilation of tracks these Moffat Beach, Australia misfits thought about totally bagging. Until they thought better. And shit, man, I’m thankful for that ‘cuz these 15 rippers are amazing. Who has the right to think about just trashing these gems? A little on the rough side but, well, we also just kinda like it that way.
Up next is the second full-length from LOS RETUMBES! Shipping on July 21st, it’s the second full-length from this primitive garage punk duo based in the Basque region of Spain. 11 easy to get into bangers that are an easy listen over and over again. Shortly after that we’ll be putting out a two track EP from SNAREWAVES. Not only is it only two tracks but each track is only 30 seconds long. Annndddd… It’s super fucking limited! Just ten total copies! On three different shells options! It’s an absolutely absurd release. EYE BALL will be doing a shorty ass EP soon as well, looks like 3 tracks in a minute, it’s fucking dope and so absolutely ridicuous. Makes me grin for no reason every time.
Been talking to EMMA GOLDMAN SACHS about doing a discography tape since there stuff is all sold out via BOMBER RECORDS, should have that out sometime soon. Looking at dropping this absolute opus from Brazil based RICHARD ROOT in early September, it’s Pet Sounds era Beach Boys but more obviously demented and twisted.
Tennessee Cold Cuts saw a quick flurry of releases, namely the 6 song shark grind EP from Nashville based MAKO, That’s right, shark grind. Plus we put out another hip-hop tape, this time from central Nashville based REV, it’s upbeat, seeing the brighter side of life rap even though everyone wants to take a turn kicking. We also did a run of tapes featuring Murfreesboro one man chaotic garage punk outfit, BARCODE! Four well written pop songs buried in grime, muck and scuzz. The melodies are there it’s just up to you to pick ‘em out of the dirt and shit. Cassette Week is coming up fast and TCC will be involved, we’re in the midst of collaboarating on a compilation of unreleased tracks from Tennessee based outfits all curated by DEAD END RECORDS, our favorite local record store.
Both KOS & TCC releases are distributed by TAPEHEAD CITY, check there if we’re sold out of a release your looking for. Additionally, SORRY STATE has a few KOS releases, most notably the last copies of that absolutely fucking killer EP from KNEE. Looking at repressing the aforementioned KNEE EP but we’ll see when we get to that.
